The Vice President of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu has on early morning on Wednesday flown to South Africa for medical treatment, local country reporter reports.
Samia Suluhu is not known to be battling any disease and always appear in public very fit and healthy.
She was referred to South Africa after the Mirembe Hospital in Dodoma failed to provide the necessary medical assistance. A nurse at the health facility describes her condition as “emergency”.
Samia Hassan Suluhu is a Tanzanian politician. She served as the Member of Parliament for Makunduchi constituency from 2010 to 2015 and has been Minister of State in the Vice President’s Office for Union Affairs since 2010. She became Tanzania’s first-ever female Vice President after she was announced Vice President of Tanzania in the 2015 General Elections, alongside John Magufuli the President.
